Administrative HistoryThis school was built in 1886 by Brunner, Mond and Co. for the children of their employees living in the new village of Winnington Park. Evening classes were held from 1886, and from 1890 were compulsory for employees aged fourteen to eighteen, and for apprentices to the age of twenty one The first Fifty years of Brunner, Mond and Co., pp. 90-93. The Infant and Primary Departments were amalgamated in September 1961. The school moved to a new building in Firdale Road in 1985
